Intraoral CE with Pat O'Rourke

  • Freelard Area Seattle, WA 98107 (map)

The jaw and neck hold tension and dysfunction for a very large percentage of the population, but few massage practitioners know how to specifically and effectively address it. This 16-hour class will give the most useful details of anatomy, give you tools to test mobility and assess structure, and palpate and treat some of the most important and elusive regions. You will learn:

  • Specific anatomy of the upper cervical spine, TMJ, and jaw and cervical musculature

  • Specific palpation of the deep cervical paraspinal muscles, the suboccipitals, and the longus colli and capitus

  • Visual and joint mobility assessment for the neck, jaw, and face

  • Myofascial work for the cervical and jaw regions

  • Intraoral work for the temporal and pterygoid muscles

  • Discussion of the common symptoms for whiplash and TMJD

This class meets the 16-hour Washington State Intraoral Endorsement Requirement.
